Job Description

The detail oriented, OQC Inspector II will conduct visual, dimensional, and electrical inspection of deliverable products including Microdisplays, and Integrated Microdisplay Assemblies.  The Inspector will also support material handling and documentation for OQC including physical inventory, documentation, OQC traceability and ISO9000 audits.  The Inspector will report into the Quality Dept to assure quality and manufacturing requirements are met.  The focus of this position will be in the OQC area however, the Inspector may provide assistance to the IQC and RMA areas when needed.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (All inclusive or a portion shall apply according to the assigned scope of responsibility and business unit.)

  • Inspect a variety of outgoing parts for conformance to established work instruction, drawings, industry standards, etc., measuring dimensions and examining functionality using low / high power microscopes, test equipment, and hand-held inspection tools.
  • Record reject data into quality database (Log Sheet / PLEX)
  • Ensure procedures and specifications for OQC and production are compliant and being followed.
  • Assist in the development of test methods and inspection plans.
  • Identify, segregate, and assist in disposition of non-conforming material.
  • On-going communication with co-workers and engineers
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • REQUIRED: Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. As a defense contractor Kopin is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card holder) to be considered for this position.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2 years minimum prior inspection experience.
  • Must have manual dexterity and possess a basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to conduct simple test sets (backlight, checker, multimeter)
  • Proficient in the use of test equipment (LCD Test Boards), microscopes and hand-held inspection tools.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency without compromising quality.
  • Understanding of the inspector's role and relevance in meeting the company's quality policy and objectives.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1 plus years of LCD inspection experience and quality assurance experience
  • Clean room experience
  • Experience using high power microscopes and vision-based dimensional measurements systems.
  • Experience with MS-Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 environment a plus
  • Capable to inspect ITO/TFT glass wafers
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards.
  • Motivated self-starter, good communication skills, ability to work as a team member.
  • Dependable, reliable, flexible, and a good listener

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to rotate from sitting to standing, lift up to 20 pounds, and gown according to clean room protocol
