The Content Development Manager is responsible for sustaining and expanding SPIE’s successful and growing book program, as well as supporting content recruitment activities for our journals program. SPIE publishes 11 journals and around 30 original Books annually.
Compensation includes: Competitive wage, annual discretionary bonus, defined contribution retirement plan with additional company match and paid-time-off plan beginning at 31 days per year.

Primary duties of this role include identifying timely, high-interest topics and qualified authors; matching topics and authors with the appropriate format for their contributions;interacting with authors and community members through attendance at SPIE events and other technical conferences;exploring partnership opportunities with other publishersand vendors; and helping to promote and market SPIE publications to among relevant technical communities.
Education & Experience Requirements
Candidates should have a science or engineering degree(bachelor of science accepted, advanced degree preferred), and/or be a publishing professional with proven STM content development and acquisition experience.
