Job Description

Micro-LAM, Inc. stands for Innovation. We are seeking top talent to join our Innovations team to augment our process capabilities. This position is responsible for new processes and technology development for Micro-LAM’s novel laser-assisted technology and ultra-precision tooling. Beyond improving speed, productivity, and quality, the company is redefining the status quo.

Micro-LAM owns its proprietary technology and processes that enables ultra-precision machining of advanced materials. The company continues to boldly innovate in three spaces: laser-assisted machining, ultra-precision diamond tools, and custom optics. Responsibilities:

- Develop solutions to overcome challenges on current products and manufacturing processes.

- Lead projects targeting to improve current products and develop new technology.

- Research and develop new processes for laser-assisted machining on hard-to-machine materials.

- Evaluate and enhance current and next gen ultra-precision cutting tooling.

- Plan and execute experiments on ultra-precision equipment.

- Perform various imaging, microscopy, and characterization techniques to better understand the mechanics of material removal.

- Perform metrology, including surface and form measurements on machined parts.

- Assisting customers in process development and application projects, on and off-site.

- Prepare and present technical report to internal groups as well as customers.

- Publish research papers and present at professional conferences/tradeshows.

Job Requirements

- A solid understanding of the R&D process workflow.

- Experienced in one or more of the following fields:

Diamond Turning, CNC Processes, Optical Fabrication, Optical Metrology, Materials Science, Lasers, Material Characterization, Tribology, Microscopy, Laser-Material Interaction.

- Proficiency with CAD and reading part drawings.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Candidates must have a Citizenship of the USA or be Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).

Preferred Competencies:

- Experience in programming ultra-precision CNC machines.

- Experienced in Optical manufacturing equipment.
