Job Description

SPIE is seeking an editorial coordinator for a portfolio of academic STEM journals. This person will facilitate the peer-review process and work directly with journal volunteers, including editors and reviewers, by training, overseeing, and enabling their required tasks. Other responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on editorial board and peer review activities; and processing manuscript submissions for language quality and journal requirements.

Full-time, 40 hours per week position available, with flexible work hours.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience:   Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant experience is required. Candidates must have strong computer skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to coordinate multiple projects and function well under competing deadlines. Experience with web content management systems and customer relationship management software is a plus.

Compensation includes:  Competitive wage, annual discretionary bonus, defined contribution retirement plan with additional company match and paid-time-off plan beginning at 31 days per year.
