Vision Engineering supplies product in volume to a significant number of global multinational manufacturers. 10 of these are sufficiently significant or have significant potential to be categorised as Global Key Accounts

Vision Engineering has an existing programme in place to further penetrate existing Key Accounts and to penetrate those identified as having significant potential

A new role: Global Key Accounts Manager/Executive, has been created to assist the VP Sales & Marketing, who has been carrying out this role alongside his other duties.


Job Description

Specific Tasks

Business Development in identified Global Key accounts for Vision Engineering’s full standardised and customised product range

Business development includes:

Management of existing key accounts, including familiarity with R&D /Manufacturing plans,key players expansions, relocations etc. Resolution of any issues

Research into the international structures of identified key accounts, R&D or manufacturing sites influencers, KPI’s relevant to Vision Engineering, creation of databases for each account and creation/agreement of a strategy for their penetration/ further penetration.

Once strategy is identified, implementation of the strategy, starting at line engineer level and working upwards through management, specialists, budget holders and purchasers.

Implementation strategy is in collaboration with the relevant global Vision Engineering Sales, Marketing or Tech Support Staff.

If customisation is required, working with VEUSA or VEUK design and manufacturing resources to produce prototyping.

Implementation will include marketing approaches, presentations, seminars, trade shows and technical demonstrations. Also required will be quotation, negotiation and closing of orders.

Vision Engineering has a full service support organisation, consisting of Marketing/Lead Generation, Tech Support, Finance, Logistics etc, available to the Key Accounts Manager/Executive


Job Requirements

The Candidate

A technical background and experience, either through education or experience in one or more of the following:

  • Mechanical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Optical, Microscope or Digital Engineering

Proven Technical Sales in one of the above disciplines

Key account Management, domestic or international

Skills/Attributes required are:

  • Dynamism, self starting
  • Good personal organisation
  • Software literacy at user level (Microsoft Suites)
  • Ability to present and demonstrate
  • Good interpersonal capabilities
  • Digital Imaging experience


Substantial North American and some global travel will be required

Location: Suitable for a home office in any USA location within reasonable distance of a hub airport

Position requires periodic, (probably a few days quarterly) time spent in VEInc New Milford, Connecticut)
