With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.

The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

Job Description


The successful candidate will join a high-caliber team of engineers within the RAPID division to develop the next generation EUV reticle and photomask inspection platform. 

 This role will serve as the project manager for development of a high performance EUV imaging optics system. The selected candidate will:

  • Serve as main liaison between KLA and strategic optical vendor
  • Manage overall project schedule, requirements, technical deliverables, and budget.
  • Align, monitor, and drive to closure project milestones, technical deliverables
  • Provide project financial planning and budget forecasts
  • Maintain project pending to meet budget
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional engineering development teams
  • Chair project meetings, assign ownership, and generate meeting minutes and action items.
  • Manage technical requirements and feature list
  • Communicate project information with functional groups and provide executive level reports to management and vendor
  • Identify and resolve risks, conflicts, inter-dependencies and project issues quickly and efficiently
Job Requirements


  • MS or PhD in Engineering or Physics, or MBA with BS in Engineering or Physics
  • 5+ years related technical experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading a cross-functional engineering projects or groups as manager or project owner
  • Experience with optical coatings, precision optics, or high-performance optical systems is a must
  • Prior Project/Program management experience
  • Vendor management experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with budget, schedule management, and task prioritization.
  • Proficient with Microsoft product tools (Excel, MS project, PowerPoint, Word and Visio).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills required.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with strong critical thinking abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to inspire teams and solve problems
  • Ability to be an assertive team player who can get things done.
  • PMI certification is a plus 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate (Academic) with at least 5 years of experience OR
  • Master's Level Degree with at least 8 years
  • Industrial experience in one or more of the following:
    • System engineering
    • Optical systems
    • Imaging systems
